The Off Shoulder Mock Neck

Mock neck (sure), off the shoulder (why not) and cropped (yup). My recent knitted piece is doing the most but all of these elements came together perfectly in the end. I had a skien and a half of yarn left over from a cardigan that I knitted last year and I didn't want another scarf. So I decided to make a sweater, I nix the sleeves, adjusted the length just above the waistline and added a mock neck for structure. This will be a great LA sweater for patio brunches and late summer nights because my neck is always cold and I have great shoulders!

The stitch is your basic stockinette stitch with a 2x2 rib trim at the base, extended mock neck and armhole trim. I left the neckline unconstructed and added an off the shoulder detail as this is a spring sweater.

Purl Soho is one of my staple websites for yarn. They also have a great library of knit, crochet and sewing projects here. The added linen to the Highland Wool and Alpaca was great because it offers texture but you still get a lightweight piece that you can wear during warmer months. For the needles, I used US 4 single pointed and 16" US 4 circular for the armhole trim.
