It all started in 2008 with two knitting needles and a ball of wool yarn. I awkwardly webbed yarn around my fingers and navigated the needle with a maze-like motion - my first stitch was cast. It was both a sign of accomplishment and defeat. My tension wasn’t quite right after the first few stitches and I heard my knitting teacher say, “Do it over - that’s not right.” Many cast on later, (as well as a monologue by my teacher about the importance of mastering the first row) I had knitted my first swatch. From that moment, I was obsessed.

Through a lot of uncertainty and gaining confidence in my talents, I felt that I was ready to go for it and become a craftprenuer. I started Angela Mayhoe | KNIT in 2018 and it was the best decision I’ve made. There has been many challenges but the kind of challenges that prep you for success - the challenges that are needed to nourish your passion and assure you that you’re on the right path.

I specialize in outerwear, mostly cardigans and oversized coats (coming soon). My knitting is precise and strategic, each stitch means something to me and I want that energy passed on to the consumer. In a world of instant satisfaction, I wanted to create something that is intentional and takes time to develop while offering a lifetime of gratitude.

Along with my knit brand, I have also nurtured my new love for writing and exploration. I founded MAYHOE magazine in 2022, the first issue launched in 2023! This platform will explore travel, cooking attempts, slow mornings, and cocktails (I'll drink to that).  Not necessarily in that order but everything plus more will be discussed and dissected as I navigate my way through this journey. I welcome you to join me in this space that has manifested from late night thoughts, passions and obsessions.  Before we get started, here's a little bit more about me:
